Shelby Clayton - Registered Psychologist

Shelby Clayton

Meet Shelby Clayton, a registered psychologist dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel genuinely heard and understood. Her goal is to offer a space where individuals can express themselves freely, knowing they are met with empathy, care, and respect.

Shelby holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Advanced) from the University of Adelaide, as well as a Master of Professional Psychology from Flinders University. Prior to joining Rose Park Psychology, she worked with the Department for Education, conducting educational assessments, and previously supported students aged 11-18 as a youth worker and counsellor. While Shelby has extensive experience with young people and educational assessments, she enjoys working with adults and welcomes clients across the lifespan with a range of diverse concerns.

With a passion for relationships, ADHD, trauma, and assessment, Shelby blends her expertise in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) with a warm, friendly approach. She
supports NDIS clients with tailored therapy aimed at improving daily functioning, mental health, and independence. Additionally, she assists with WorkCover claims by providing psychological assessments and treatment plans to aid recovery and workplace reintegration, addressing challenges like stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being.

Believing that therapy should feel like connecting with someone who genuinely cares, Shelby is passionate about building strong relationships with her clients, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges while recognising their unique strengths. Shelby understands that the client is the expert in their own life, and she works collaboratively to uncover the root of any issues and equip them with tools to reduce discomfort.

Whether you’re seeking guidance, a safe space, or simply someone to talk to, Shelby is here to support you every step of the way.

Outside of work, she’s a proud dog mom to Chester, her energetic long-haired Chihuahua, loves a good comedy, and is always on the hunt for the best new food spots (please send any recommendations—seriously, she’s always hungry).

Shelby consults at Rose Park Psychology on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

We understand that journeys are travelled better together. No issue is too big or too small. Whether it’s a series of sessions to deal with a complex problem or a single session to address a specific concern, we’re here to listen and help.
